Betty Jo Sykes Dantone, 84, passed away on Sun. Dec. 1, 2024, in Madison, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Dec. 4, 2024 from 9:30am-11am at Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Wed. Dec. 4, 2024 at Brandon Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Dantone was born in Winona, MS, on Jan. 30, 1940, to the late Erskin Sykes and Ann Pullen Sykes. She graduated from Winona High School where she twirled the baton and was a Drum Major. In 1964 she married the love of her life, Sammy Dantone and together they enjoyed traveling and all types of sporting events, especially Mississippi State sports. Mrs. Dantone was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lisa Hudson Sunday School Class. She retired from Trustmark Bank after 20 years of service. Mrs. Dantone was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her son, David Dantone (Mary); daughter, Suzanne King (Shane) and four grandchildren, Samuel David Dantone, Rosemary Webb Dantone, Emma Kate King and Sykes Ellis King. Mrs. Dantone is also preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Dantone Jr. and her sister, Patsy Hayward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brandon Baptist Church at 100 Brandon Baptist Dr. Brandon, MS 39042 or the Alzheimer’s Association Mississippi Chapter at 196 Charmant Place Ridgeland, MS 39157.
