Betty Jean Harrison, 91, of Fulton, passed away on November 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 27, 1934, in Lohman, Missouri, to the late Francis "Frank" Joseph Jacobs and the late Virginia Lucille (Meller) Jacobs.
Betty was united in marriage to LeRoy Harrison on March 2, 1957. They shared a beautiful life together until his passing on May 27, 2003.
Blessed with steady hands and a creative spirit, Betty was exceptionally talented with a needle and thread. Whether sewing by machine or by hand, embroidering, doing counted cross stitch, knitting, or crocheting, she poured pride and care into every stitch. For several years, she also enjoyed quilting, creating pieces that carried both beauty and warmth.
Betty loved spending time in her garden and tending to her flower beds until she was no longer able to do so. She continued preserving vegetables and making homemade jellies as long as she could. A gifted cook, keeping people fed was truly her happy place. Her many Christmas cookies were a cherished tradition, and her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were treats everyone looked forward to.
Nothing meant more to Betty than her family. She was devoted beyond measure, building her life around the people she loved most. As the proud mother of a large family of twelve children, she dedicated her entire life to caring for those she held dear. Her love, faith, strength, and unwavering commitment will continue to live on through each of them.
Betty's memory will continue to be cherished by her sons: Dan Harrison (Beth), John Harrison(Kim), Clarence Harrison (Shannon), Steve Harrison (Heather), Tom Harrison; her daughters: Peggy Singer, Patty Harrison, Penny Rohe (Dan), Pam Kepus (Ralph Yeater) Rosie Inslee, Sharon Gwinn, Kathy Neal (Kevin); her brother: John Jacobs (Donna); her sisters: Vernie
Eicholz (Eddie), Shirley Forck (Bill), Marilyn Keller (Leon); and sisters-in-law, Velma Jacobs, Connie Jacobs; along with 29 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers: Henry Jacobs and Robert "Bob" Jacobs; her sisters: Anna Marie Jacobs, Martha Lucille Bennett (Euel Creed "Creedie"), and Ethel Mae Bernskoetter (Wilbur); and one grandchild, Bobby Kepus.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Peter Catholic Church in Fulton, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with Father Chris Cordes officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Rosary will be prayed prior to the visitation at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Millersburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Betty's love of children, donations may be made to St. Peter School and St. Peter Early Learning Center in Fulton, MO, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd, Fulton, MO 65251.
