Betty Jane Rink Topham, 80, a native and resident of Morgan City, LA, passed away peacefully in the early morning of July 1, 2025 surrounded by family. Betty was born September 2, 1944 to Johnny Rink, Jr. and Ethel Boudreaux Rink. Betty worked several jobs over her career, but she most enjoyed working as a Dispatcher at United Vision until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crochet, crafts, baking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her daughters Sherie Hardaway and her husband Emmett, Debbie Gros and her husband Kerry, Lainie Bott and her husband David, and Marnie Burke; her sister Patricia Gray and her husband George; her grandchildren Eric Hardaway (Veronica), Erin Alfred (Lyall), Ashley Gros-Young (Tanner), Joshua Gros (Amy Reed), Austin Bott (Alex), Lindsey Bott, Zachary Burke, and Zoey Burke; and her great grandchildren Breanna Pray, Braden Hardaway, Colby Pray, Brynlee Hardaway, Oliver Alfred, Simon Alfred, Claire Alfred, Emilia Gros, Maddox Gros, Jules Young, Kayce Coupel, and great granddaughter on the way. Betty is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis, her parents, Johnny and Ethel, her brothers, Kennith and Rodney, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Betty’s family would like to thank Dr. Natalie Dishman, Legacy Rehab, Oschner ICU & 6th floor Nurses, Kyle Breaux from Oschner Occupational Therapy, Heart of Hospice, Ms. Crystal Boudreaux, Brooke Landry, and Michelle Jimcoily for their loving care in her last months.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5 from 2:00pm-3:30pm at Twin City Funeral Home with a service from 3:30pm-4:00pm. Graveside services to follow at the Morgan City Cemetery.
