Betty Louise Malone

1945-2025

Betty Lucille Holton Malone, a lifelong resident of Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on August 31, 1945, to Harry Lee Holton and Emma Sara Lewis, she was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend.

Betty spent her career working as a dedicated sales clerk at Charlie's Tobacco, where she was known for her warm smile and welcoming spirit. Her passion for life extended beyond her work; she found great joy in crocheting and cooking, and her home was always filled with love, especially during the holiday season. Betty had a particular fondness for Christmas and enjoyed camping trips that allowed her to embrace the beauty of nature.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Harry Lee Holton and Emma Sara Lewis, as well as her dear sisters, Bobbie Marks and Marie McClanahan. Betty's memory will be lovingly cherished by her surviving family: her devoted daughter, Dawn Sawyer of Greensboro; her brothers, Randy Sawyer of King and David Sawyer of Greensboro; and her brother, James Holton of Oregon.

In keeping with her family's wishes, Betty's life will be celebrated privately. In lieu of customary remembrances, those wishing to honor her memory may make a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association by visiting https://donorservices.alz.org/.

Betty Lucille Holton Malone touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
