Betty June Millard, 75, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2025, after dying of cardiac arrest. Betty was a Christian believer and a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on October 5, 1950, but grew up primarily in Bradley County, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School, class of 1968. She earned a BS degree in 1975 from Ball State University and her Master's degree in 1982 from Rollins College. She was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served from 1979 to 1983. She was a teacher for Middle School, High School, and Community College students, mostly in East Tennessee. She also worked intermittently in the Manufacturing / Industrial sector for General Motors, Mars / Wrigley, Duracell, and Amazon. She retired in 2014. Throughout her life, she was devoted to her family, her church, and her country. She enjoyed reading, square dancing, taking care of her cats, working puzzles, Christian music, and family events/genealogy. Her life was one of compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, and discipline.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Millard of Cleveland, Tennessee, and her brother, Bill Millard (Marcia) of Athens, Tennessee.
She is survived by sisters, Mary Lee DuBose (Steve) of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Carolyn Withrow (Larry) of Cleveland, Tennessee, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee, with Rev. Terry Caywood officiating.
