Betty Morgan-Wagnon, born October 7th, 1944, and was called home to be with Jesus and her beloved family May 25, 2025. She graced this world for 80 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and kindness that will resonate through generations to come.
Betty dedicated her life to praising the Lord Jesus Christ by attending Cleveland Heights Baptist Church, nurturing her children and family, and blessed all that knew her.
Betty was a devoted wife of 28 years to her loving husband Lawrence Wagnon. She was married to her late husband Winfrey Morgan for 38 years, and together they had two children. She was blessed to be a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Lawrence Wagnon, and her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, associates and the community that she dedicated her time and efforts to until the day her physical life ended and soul was free. Her contributions to those in need was endless. She was quick with a helping hand and celebrated her life with a smile and shared laughter with anyone she came in contact with.
Betty was born to her late parents Thomas Grant Cronan and Dessie Ray Bramblett (Cronan), and preceded in death by her brothers Donald Smith, Vernon Smith and Kenner Smith Sr. and a nephew Kenner Smith Jr.
Betty is survived by her husband Lawrence Wagnon of Dalton, daughter Tammie Morgan Dillard and her husband Everett Dillard of Ringgold GA, son Kim Morgan and his wife Patty Morgan of Villanow GA, and step daughter Meredith Quinn of Chattanooga TN. Betty had 6 grandsons James Wingfield and his wife Lucinda Wingfield, Justin Langham and his wife Mirabel Langham, Isaiah Morgan and his wife Kaitlyn Morgan, Jeremiah Morgan and his wife Victoria Morgan, Reed Dillard, Riker Dillard, and 13 great grandchildren, 3 nieces and a nephew. She is also survived by her brother Frank Cronan and his wife Barbara Cronan, and sisters-in-law Ruby Smith Durham and Judy Roach and several cousins.
To celebrate her beautiful and wonderful life, the family will receive friends at Dalton Funeral Home Friday, May 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Dalton Funeral Home Saturday, May 31st at 2:00 p.m. After services, Betty will join her late husband and be laid to rest at the Varnell Cemetery in Varnell, Georgia.
