Mrs. Betty J. Nott, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois, formerly of Maquon, Illinois, died peacefully at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

She was born October 17, 1938, in Yates City, Illinois, the daughter of Arlie and Dorothy (Lee) Duggins. She married Donald H. Nott on March 2, 1957, in Elmwood, Illinois. Don preceded her in death on January 25, 2024, after 66 years of marriage.

Surviving is a son, Douglas (and Ruth) Nott of Maquon; two daughters, Lois Grohmann of Lincoln, Illinois, and Karen McCormick of Yates City, Illinois; a sister, Judith Kaps of East Peoria, Illinois; three grandchildren, Randy Grohmann, Michelle (Ryan) Goetz, and Elizabeth (David) Matchefts; and three great-grandchildren, Adelynne Goetz, Madison Goetz, and Emersyn Goetz. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Duggins; and a sister, Lynda Danner.

Betty graduated from Elmwood High School in 1956. She worked for the United States Postal Service in Galesburg for 21 years, retiring in 1998. She was a former volunteer with the Maquon Ambulance Service, an assistant librarian at the Maquon Public Library, and a Girl Scout leader. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and making quilts.

As Betty requested, cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Haynes Cemetery near Delong, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Maquon Public Library.
