Publish in a newspaper

Frankfort – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and family matriarch, Betty M. Parrish (lovingly referred to as "mammie") by her loved ones. She entered into her heavenly home on October 1, 2025. Betty was born on January 14, 1936. Betty cherished the time she spent with her daughters, Sandy (Bobby) Fannin and Mona (David) Harrod; step-son, Brad (Lisa) Parrish; grandchildren, Julie (Joey) Bailey, Jason (Amy) Harrod, Susan (Phillip) Ward, Christy (Eric) Newton, David Parrish, and Robbie Fannin. Her greatest joys were her family and the simple, meaningful moments they shared, whether shopping, or driving through the country roads of Franklin County where she grew up in the Benson and Bridgeport area sharing childhood memories. She was blessed with and adored 12 great-grandchildren, Collin (Alicia) Newton, Sydney Bailey, Zachary Bailey, Nicholas Newton, Andrew Harrod, Suzette Bailey, Jacob Ward, Anna Newton, Jack Harrod, Saylor Bailey, Dylan Ward, and Owen Harrod. Many would describe her as a very independent and determined woman who loved line dancing at the Senior Citizen's Center with her favorite dance partner, Wilmona Sheets; antique shopping; Wednesday night visits with her granddaughters, Julie and Susan (the "girls"); watching UK football and basketball games; eating Chick-Fil-A; and NASCAR racing. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wallace Parrish; mother, Lula Stigers; father, Tom Milton; and sister, JoAnn Milton, all of Frankfort, Kentucky. She was a member of North Benson Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Todd Lester of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Serving as the active pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Collin Newton, Zachary Bailey, Nicholas Newton, Andrew Harrod, Jacob Ward, Jack Harrod, Dylan Ward, and Owen Harrod. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson, Jason Harrod and Robbie Fannin. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Franklin County Senior Citizen's Meals on Wheels program. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
