With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy" Gregory Trivette, age 73, on September 30, 2025, with his loving wife of 45 years by his side. Services will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jon Sutphin officiating. Burial will follow at Frankfort Cemetery. Visitation will be at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Tom was born on December 27, 1951, to the late Mildred and Maurice Trivette. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe Trivette and Dale Trivette. He is survived by his siblings Larry (Sue) Trivette, Phil (Mary) Trivette, and Maureen (Tom) Prather. On October 3, 1980, Tom married the love of his life, Sabina, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. He was the proud father of three children: Samuel Trivette, Laura (Zack) Downs, and Alane (Harold) Foley. To his family, he was lovingly known as "Pop T" a name cherished by his six grandchildren-Levi Downs, Kayla Mason, Maclan Foley, Hunter Downs, Patrick Foley, and Peyton Foley-and four great-grandchildren, Mason Morris, Naomi Ritchey, Hadley Richerson, and Holsen Richerson. Being "Pop T" brought him immeasurable joy and pride. His Christian faith guided his life, and he found great comfort in offering heartfelt prayers for his family, which we will always remember and cherish. Tom proudly joined the United States Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Constellation during the Vietnam War. He bravely served his country and received commendations for "Outstanding Performance of Duty" while in a combat zone, a testament to his dedication and courage. During his time of service, Tom discovered his love of music and worked as a DJ for the onboard radio station, where he earned the nickname "Frog." Tom built a successful career and retired from Toyota Motor Manufacturing after 15 years of dedicated work. His professional accomplishments reflected the same work ethic and determination that guided him throughout his life. Tom had a lifelong passion for horticulture and landscape architecture. His remarkable talent and dedication to the natural world led him to earn a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Kentucky State University in 2018. Whether tending a garden full of vegetables, cultivating beautiful landscapes, or sharing his vast knowledge of plants and trees, Tom's love for nature was evident in everything he did. In addition to his love for the outdoors, Tom was a gifted musician who found joy in playing guitar and singing. His music brought happiness to family and friends, and it was another way he shared his warmth and spirit with those around him. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, gentle spirit, and the way he nurtured not only plants but also the lives of those around him. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or Bleeding Disorders of Kentucky. Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
