Betty Lou Redetzke, Age 84, of the Town of Eau Pleine started her next journey with Jesus, her Beloved Savior in Heaven in the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center.
A Memorial Service to honor Betty's life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in March Rapids with Rev. Philip Wilde officiating. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer is bestowed upon her grandsons: Seth Vircks, Zachary Vircks, Nate Redetzke, Matthew Redetzke, Mike Redetzke, Sam Redetzke and Nate Beyer.
Betty Lou was born on January 4, 1940, in the Town of Earl to parents Florence and Fred Daniels. Aunt Amy delivered her at home in a cabin and said, "let's name her Betty Lou." She attended school in Earl and enjoyed life with her seven siblings. Betty moved to Stratford in 1955 to help her Aunt Bess. She eventually lived in Marshfield for her last year of high school. She supported herself by living in the basement at St. Joseph's Hospital with two other girls. She worked before and after school at the age of seventeen. Betty graduated from Columbus High School.
The summer after graduation, she met the love of her life, LeRoy Redetzke. Three months later, they were married at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington. Four children were born to this union, Deb, Jeff, Doug and Wendy.
Betty farmed with LeRoy in Stratford for many years. She shared her servant heart for her church by being a Sunday school teacher for 30 years, held offices in Ladies Aide and decorated the altar.
Betty loved her flower garden and shared her flowers at church. She was active in Special Olympics giving her time to friends of her daughter, Wendy. Betty was a talented quilter and ceramic creator. She loved to gather the family together often for holiday meals and her wonderful baking. She enjoyed in her spare time increasing her bowling skills at Rose Bowl Lanes. Her legacy lives on with 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, all deeply loved.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, LeRoy, married 66 years and her children, Deb (Richard) Vircks of Stanley, Jeff (Tammy) Redetzke of Phillips, Doug (Darla) Redetzke of Stratford and Wendy (Ben) of Stratford. Her legacy lives on with 13 grandchildren, Gab, Seth, Brooke, Zachary, Allison, Nate, Nate, JoHanna, Matthew, Mike, Sam, Hannah and Rachael and 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way, all deeply loved. She is further survived by her siblings, Vernon Daniels and Sharon Christner along with many other relatives and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Florence Daniels; sisters, Frances and Linda and brothers, Leonard, Roger and Norman.
If desired, the family is graciously accepting memorials in Betty's name for a charity to be determined in the days after her services.
