 Joellyn “Granny” Davenport, 88 passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at Glencoe United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Mustian officiating.

Betty was born in Davidson County to the late Roe Russell and Ethel Cleo Tysinger Russell. She retired from Burlington Industries after 35 years of service. She was an extremely loving person. Joellyn loved cooking and enjoyed Sunday dinners with her family she loved them most of all. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Vance “Pop” Davenport; her infant child, Charles Thomas Davenport; brother, Don Russell; half sisters, Louise Russell and Martha Reeder; and son in law, Jimmy Pearman.

Joellyn is survived by her children, Rebecca Pearman, Mike Davenport and Nancy Kinney (Dennis); grandchildren, Jamie Pearman (Nellie), Brooke Mustian (Caleb), Samantha Kinney, and Joe Kinney (Katie); great grandchildren, Sydney Rhoades (Chase), Abbey Hayes (Justin), Luke Mustian, Oakley Mustian, Jaxson Kinney, Henley Kinney, and Sawyer Kinney; great great grandchildren, Jayce and Ava Hayes; special sister in law, Hazel Russell; nephews, Greg Russell (Laurie) and Brannon Russell (Suzanne), as well as a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter at 250 Cherokee Camp Road, Reidsville, NC 27320.
