Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home & Cremation CentreBetty Arnold Rouse completed her earthly journey and was welcomed into the presence of her Savior on November 19, 2025. After several years of debilitating illness, she is now fully at peace in the Lord’s presence. Her family rests in the promise that she has entered the eternal home prepared for her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her best and loved her, yet her legacy of faith, family devotion and service to others remains.
She was born on October 26, 1946, in Bristol, Tennessee, to Charles and Edna (Countiss) Arnold. From childhood, Betty trusted in the Lord, and her faith guided her throughout her life. She attended East Tennessee State University and later, in 1966, married Jerry Rouse. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Illinois, where Jerry began his ministerial training. Together they built a life marked by devotion to the Lord, service to others, and unwavering love for their family. Betty fully supported Jerry in pastoral ministry serving in churches in Missouri, Minnesota and Florida.
Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years; daughter Michelle Davis (Aaron) of Neptune Beach, Florida; son Michael Eric Rouse (Karla) of Odessa, Florida; and her brother Chuck Arnold (Connie) of Bluff City, Tennessee. She was blessed with five grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Joseph Murphy (Jenna) of St. Paul, Minnesota; Abigail Murphy of Orlando, Florida; Jacob Rouse (Krissy) of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Benjamin Rouse; and Kayla Rouse, both of Odessa, Florida.
The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of Riverwood Center and Community Hospice for their care of Betty.
A service of memorial celebration will be held at Quinn-Shalz Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 3-5pm. Visitation will be at 3pm with a service beginning at 4pm.
