Betty Rush Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 31, 2025.
RUSH, Betty Anne, age 84, of Waynesville, passed away on December 23, 2025.

Betty was a graduate of Waynesville High School, class of '59. She was a longtime and devoted member of Lytle United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as treasurer for many years. In addition to her church involvement, she took pride in serving her community by working the local voting polls.

In her free time, Betty enjoyed playing computer games, especially solitaire. She had a lifelong love for animals and was especially fond of her dogs, Charlie and Precious. A talented and dedicated knitter, she lovingly created blankets for those she cared about. Above all, Betty cherished spending time with her grandchildren and being present with her family whenever she could.

Betty will be remembered for her stubborn determination paired with a kind and loving heart. She was helpful, family-centered, and deeply devoted to those she loved. Family traditions were important to Betty, especially gathering together and enjoying time spent with loved ones across generations. In life, she was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Barger Rush; her parents, Arthur and Anne Fisher; her brother, Jerry Fisher; and her sister, Donna Sumpter. She is survived by her son, Mark (Tina) Rush; two daughters, Lorri Rush-Harrison and Janet (Scott Roberts) Rush; her sister, Dorothy Patton; eight grandchildren, Chasity (Bill Robinson) Rush, Charity (Mike) Hardman, Mark Rush, Amanda Harris Dunn (Zack Dugger), Jeff Levack (Kirsten Haley), Joe Levack, Zac (Joanna) Roberts, and Shawn Harris; and seven great-grandchildren, Neveah, Haden, Isis, Billy, Logan, Noah, and Maddie.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Stubbs-Conner Funeral Home in Waynesville. Brian Blankenship will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm prior to the service on Saturday, January 10, at the funeral home. If desired, contributions may be made in Betty's honor to Lytle United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at https://www.stubbsconner.com.
