Betty Simpson passed away on May 31, 2025, at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1946, in Addison, Alabama.

Throughout her life, Betty's dedication to her family was unwavering. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in sewing. She was a faithful employee at Walmart where she worked for 14 years. Her passion for nurturing her loved ones was evident with the time that was spent with them, enjoying each precious moment.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Beverly Simpson-Gumm and her husband, David; her grandson, Dylan Simpson; and her great-granddaughter, Shayley Simpson. She also leaves behind her dear special friend Abby Pennington. Siblings Jewel, Brenda, and brother Jerry, all residing in Alabama, continue to honor her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi Simpson with who she was married for 56 years, and her parents, Jim and Verner Baker, who shaped her into the remarkable woman we remember today.

Betty's legacy will be carried forward through the lives of those she touched, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love for her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. Funeral services for Mrs. Simpson will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 1:00PM with Pastor Ray Stepp officiating. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
