In addition to her husband of 65 years, she will be missed and loved always by a daughter, Laurie Bittle of Hallsville, MO; a son and daughter, Chris and Brenda Spurling of Centralia, MO; two brothers Richard Kanatzar and his wife Sue of Jefferson City, MO and Ronald Kanatzar and his wife Ladena of Sturgeon, MO; two sisters Connie Kanatzar of Clark, MO and Patricia Buechter and her husband August Jefferson City, MO; 10 grandchildren, Heather Spurling, Amanda Spurling, Lianna “Leaf” Allen, Zachary Spurling, Tyler (Kayleen) Spurling, Erik Spurling, Aaron Renaud, D’lorah (Tristin) Haas, Hannah Bittle, Ethan Bittle; 6 great-grandchildren, Tristen and Jeremy Anders, Hayden Thompson, Sophia Phelps, Oliver Spurling and Miles Spurling. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Eugenia Ann Roberts, Donna Jo Tinker, and her always beloved son, Jonathan Spurling.
Betty was a homemaker for most of her life. She worked for State Farm Insurance for a short time until her youngest son, Jonathan, was born. She loved to bake, to make homemade Christmas candies and cookies at Christmas time. She loved reading, listening to music and had a great passion for her handwork which she did for most of her life. She crocheted, knitted, embroidered and quilted. Many, many projects were gifted over the years. Sadly, the Alzheimer’s took away her ability to do these things she had so loved. She loved her family the most of all and her family at the Stuart House, who gave her the very best of care and love, for which we are forever grateful.
