Bettye Moore

On March 13, 1945 in a little town called Boligee, Alabama a blessing came to the Gooden family.  Beatrice Gooden gave birth to a lovely little girl.  They named her Bettye Jean.

In 1959 she graduated from Robinson Elementary, from there she went to Fairfield Industrial High School, where she loved the teachers.  In 1961 she was chosen State President of the New Homemakers of America. In May 1963 she graduated and spent one semester at Tuskegee University.  Because of illness, she had to leave.  In 1970, Bettye became a Seventh Day Adventist and started working as a Bible worker.  She worked with Pastor M.M. Young, Elder Clayton Alves, and Elder Willie Moore, Sr.
In 1997 Bettye married Melvin Reese, who preceded his wife in death on June 17, 2011.  She enjoyed the church and traveling with Sister Nettie Henderson, the special needs director for South Central Conference.  Bettye's health begin to fail so her children brought her home with them.

She departed this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 19 days.

Bettye leaves to cherish, her three children: Kimberly Moore Banks (Anthony), Willetta Shawnta Moore, and Willie C. Moore, Jr.; grandson, Ethan C. Moore; brothers, James and Joe Easter; several step brothers and step sisters; God Sister, Elizabeth Alves; and Prayer Partners, Lynn and Emily Roberts, Pastor Ray Carter, J. Jackson, and Brother Melvin.
