Beverly Dawn Cornelison Barnes, age 70, of Asheboro passed away August 20, 2025 at her home. She was born July 4, 1955 in Montgomery County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Harvey Elvin Cornelison and Alice Lax Cornelison. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Randy Cornelison and Michael Cornelison.
Beverly's spirit embodied freedom, creativity, and care for others. For over 50 years, she dedicated her life to the beauty industry with an exceptional talent for hairdressing. Her work was not just a profession but a heartfelt calling where she made each client feel special and valued. In her final 15 years before retirement, she dedicated her expertise and compassion to the residents of Sunbridge Woodland Hills Nursing Home. There, she ensured that clients felt dignified and beautiful, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to caring for others.
Her adventurous and free spirit took her across the country, with residences in vibrant locales such as Arizona and travel to locations such as the Florida Keys and Mexico. Her zest for life was perhaps most vividly expressed while riding on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, where she embraced the wind and the open road with joy and excitement. Above all, Beverly cherished her family deeply. Her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, was immeasurable, and the time spent with them was among her most treasured moments. Though she has left this world, Beverly's spirit of adventure, her dedication to beauty and care, and her profound love for family will remain in the hearts of those she touched. She lived a life that celebrated both the extraordinary and the everyday, leaving a lasting imprint of warmth and inspiration.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Matthew Cashatt and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Alice Cashatt and Madison Cashatt; sister, Lauri Cornelison; brother, Lance Cornelison (Carol); Laura Cornelison; canine companion, Bella; numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4:00-5:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street,
Asheboro, NC 27203 with Rev. Josh Britton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00-4:00pm.
Memorials may be made to the Randolph County SPCA or Emmy's House for Randolph Family Crisis Center to help women and children in need.
