After a short, second bought of cancer, Beverly Caldwell age 69 passed away on July 5th surrounded by loved ones. Affectionally known as "Coco", Bev was born on March 22, 1954, in Worcester, MA to Beatrice Montgomery and Irving Zoppo Sr. She graduated from Wachusett High School in 1972 and followed up a long career in retail work, medical assistance, warehouse clerk, and finishing at Camping USA as a sales associate.
Bev was involved in the Grange, serving for over 50 years total in Holden, East Bridgewater, and Easton. There she met her husband, Alan.
She was involved in the Boy Scouts for over 25 years, being one of the pioneers, paving the way for women and girls to be part of the Scouts. She proudly followed her sons all the way to their rank of Eagle Scout. Beverly received the Silver Beaver award and was a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow. She spent many summers at Camp Squanto, touching the lives of many, as a volunteer, medical officer, and Assistant Scout Master to the Provisional Camp program.
On top of all of this, Beverly was a dabbler in a long litany of hobbies. Many loved receiving gifts from her talents in knitting, crocheting, ceramic painting, needle point, and cake making just to list a few. Family would lovingly fight over her hand-made Christmas gifts.
Bev's heart was massive. She always saw the best in people and accepted them for who they were. Family was everything to her. She leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Alan Caldwell. Her children, Sefton and his wife Kathleen, Ben and his wife Lynne, and "adopted" daughter Jennifer Dupuis and her husband Jeffrey. Her grandchildren Christopher and Bryce Caldwell; Tyler Gregory-Coleman; Rayna, Anastazja, and Kassidy Caldwell and Ethan and Evan Dupuis. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Visiting hours for Beverly will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 3:00-6:00PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, www.umdf.org, Make-A- Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, https://wish.org, or a charity close to your heart.
