Beverly Ann Casper, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Beverly was born in Norfolk, Virginia in August of 1950 to Roy and Thelma Crisp. She was the second youngest of their six children. Beverly was married to Leary W. Casper on October 16, 1971. They celebrated 53 years of marriage. Known affectionately as Namaw to all of her grandchildren and BevAnn or Aunt Bevy to the rest of her family, Beverly was a devoted wife to Leary and mother to Laura, Elizabeth and Matthew. She took special joy in the occasions spent with her grandchildren and always emphasized the importance of family time. Beverly was also an avid gardener and delighted in watching her plants and flowers flourish under her care. A lover of sweet treats, she enjoyed sharing her delicious desserts with loved ones and was always excited to guide her grandchildren through the art of baking. Beverly's recipes continue to be shared and savored by family members. As a woman of great faith and abundant kindness, Beverly looked forward to her weekly Bible study group. Her walk with the Lord was integral in her life. Spreading His word brought her immeasurable joy and contentment. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Thelma Crisp, her brother-in-law Joe Howard, her brother-in-law Ron Hill and most recently, her kindred spirit and sister Janice Dashiell. Beverly's legacy will live on through her husband, Leary Casper of Suffolk, VA, her daughter, Laura Hare and husband Robert Hare Jr. of Moseley, VA, her daughter Elizabeth Mielke of Amherst, NH, her son L. Matthew Casper of
Chesapeake, VA, her six grandchildren, R. Preston Hare III, Liam Hare, Brennon Mielke, Audrey Mielke, Lilleigh Casper and Logan Casper along with her sisters and brothers, Linda Howard, Kathy Hill, John Ray Crisp, Lewis Crisp, Joyce Compton and Earl Dashiell as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. They will never forget the love she brought to their lives. The Celebration of Life for Beverly will be Friday, November 8, 2024 in the Chapel of Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road
Chesapeake, VA 23322, at 1:00pm. Mrs. Vivian Hayes will officiate. Following Beverly's life celebration, there will be a reception for family and friends to enjoy sweet treats and share stories about a beloved woman who will be missed more than words can express.
