Beverly Jean Causer, age 92, formerly of
Corning, NY, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024. Beverly, affectionately known as Bev or BJ, was a beacon of loving warmth and supportive strength to all who knew her. She was born on the 5th of February, 1932 in
Corning, NY, to Glenn and Edith Twist. Bev was a steadfast pillar of the community who dedicated her life to serving others with compassion and generosity. She was a firm believer in Jesus, with John 13:34-35 resonating deeply in her heart, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Bev's career was marked by her unwavering commitment and diligence. She was proud of her 40-year tenure at Corning, Inc., where she worked as a Packer and was honored with a 40-year pin. Her work ethic took her to the Lodge on the Green in Painted Post, NY, where she served in the Housekeeping Department. A memorable moment of her career was when she had the privilege of cleaning Bobby Kennedy's room during his stay there. Yet, Bev's most cherished role was that of a devoted mother and grandmother. Her love for her family was evident in the joyous moments she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making them her world.
Bev had a vivacious spirit that shone brightly in her hobbies. She reveled in the thrill of Tioga Downs Casino and Fingerlakes Casino, and found solace in the harmonious melodies of country and gospel music. Listening to music on her iPad or CDs, she was often swept away by the rhythm and lyrics.
Bev is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Randy) Graves of Savona, NY, Bonnie (Roland) Decker of Shollotte, NC, and Barbara (William) Kane, Jr. of Elmira, NY; grandchildren: Jennifer Whalen, Melissa Whalen Houck, Scott Decker, Terry Decker, Leverett Willow, and Lucas Willow; as well as several great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Edith Twist, and a total of 14 brothers and sisters.
It was Bev's request that there be no services.
