Beverly White Faver, a devoted wife, mother, community leader, and lifelong servant to her faith, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89. Surrounded by her loving husband of 70 years, John, and family, Beverly's passing marks the end of a remarkable life filled with kindness, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose.
Born on April 17, 1935, in
Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Beverly was the daughter of Metta Montgomery White and Blythe White. She was raised in a home where community service and family values were paramount, and her early life was shaped by her strong sense of responsibility. As a child, she contributed to the war effort during World War II, pulling a wagon to collect resources for the cause, a sign of her lifelong commitment to service.
Beverly's upbringing also included a strong connection to First Christian Church in Pine Bluff, where she was a devoted member for her entire life. From a young age, she demonstrated leadership in both the church and her community, later holding many roles in the Beta Chi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, which was dedicated to local service projects. She also served as a Girl Scout leader, helping young girls grow into confident, caring women. These experiences deeply influenced her daughters, Karen, Paula, and Jennifer, whom she raised to share her passion for helping others.
At just 14, Beverly's life was forever changed when John Allen Faver saw her on the steps of the Jordan Building at Pine Bluff High School. Their love blossomed as they worked together at the Old Fashion Ice Cream Shop, and on September 2, 1954, Beverly and John married, beginning a partnership that would span more than seven decades.
As a young couple, Beverly and Johnny were deeply involved in their church's youth ministry, where they worked as advisors to the youth group, serving burgers and guiding the next generation with patience and love. Beverly worked at AP&L before becoming a full-time mother to her three daughters. She dedicated herself to raising them to be strong, independent women, always staying up late to help them with school projects and encouraging them to strive for excellence in all that they did.
When her daughters were older, Beverly returned to the workforce as a bookkeeper at Curry's Termite and Pest Control. Her hard work not only helped support her family but also enabled them to enjoy vacations and prepare for future college expenses.
Beverly's favorite activity was being Boo to her grandchildren Morgan(Chris), Meredith (Clayton), John (Jessica), Franklin (Jessica), Peyton (Loren), Alicia (Chris), Hunter and Riley. And then to her great grandchildren: Carson, Heidi, Anna Claire, John Allen, Ava Rose, Graham, Peter Blythe, Henry, Margo, Addie and Lane.
After 70 years of marriage, Beverly leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and commitment. She will be dearly missed by her husband, John, her daughters, Karen Butler, Paula Vallot (John), and Jennifer Lyons (Tracy), and her sisters, Diane Countryman and Katherine Dryden, along with other family and friends who were touched by her generosity and kindness.
A service to honor Beverly's life will be held at Ralph Robinson & Son on Tuesday, January 14 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Christian Church of White Hall, 304 White Hall Ave, White Hall, AR 71602 or to
The Salvation Army, organizations that were dear to Beverly's heart.
Beverly's legacy of faith, family, and service will live on through all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and the countless lives she touched.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
