Beverly Bernice Garfield, affectionately known as Bev to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at Angel's Grace in
Oconomowoc, WI, due to complications of scleroderma. She was born on September 15, 1945, in
Algoma, WI, to Ivo and Roseline (Pearl) Wagner. She was the 3rd oldest of 10 children. Bev brought warmth and joy into the lives of everyone she met.
Beverly was a graduate of Marshfield High School, class of 1963, where she was known for her kind spirit and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Thereafter, she dedicated her life to her family, becoming the quintessential homemaker and proudly taking on the title of the "best mom ever." Her loving husband James, with whom she shared over 60 years, "We had a good run" , was their motto, survives her. Together, they raised a family of three children: Tammy Pasdera (Travis), Joseph Garfield (Julie), and Jennifer Garfield. Beverly's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Kyra Rennhack (Dakota), Angelina Pasdera, Brett Pasdera, Rachel Garfield, and Daniel Garfield, as well as her adored great-granddaughter, Audrey Legler. (Audrey's GiGi)
Survived by many relatives and friends, with Char Scrima being a great friend of over 42 years.
Throughout her life, Beverly's Christian faith was her cornerstone, providing her strength and guiding her actions in love and service. Her interests were as vast as her heart; she had a profound love for growing flowers, which reflected the beauty and care she brought to the world. Beverly's hands were rarely still, as she was an avid practitioner of cross-stitch, needlepoint, and sewing, leaving behind many beautiful pieces that her family will treasure forever. She also found joy in Bingo, reading, assembling puzzles, and engaging in various crafts.
Beverly's kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas, where she excelled in canning, baking, and constantly trying new recipes. Her culinary creations were not just meals but expressions of her love and creativity. Furthermore, Beverly had an adventurous spirit, which she fulfilled through extensive travel across the United States and abroad, always eager to explore new places and cultures.
When not traveling,
Somerton, AZ became her winter escape. Bev loved it there.
Those who knew Beverly would describe her as loving, kind, and thoughtful-a woman who lived her values and treated everyone with respect and compassion. Her presence was a gift to those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Beverly's life was a tapestry of love, support and gentle kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As we say goodbye to Beverly Bernice Garfield, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the countless ways she touched our lives.
