Beverly Harmon

Beverly Bruton Harmon passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born to David and Martha Bruton in Denison, Texas, in 1943, Beverly was the second of five sisters. She graduated from Denison High School in 1961 and lived in France for a time after graduation, where her parents were stationed in the military.

After returning to Dallas, she became a devoted mother to three children, Traci, Jennifer, and David, and later to two stepchildren, Eric and Melissa. She and her husband of 40 years, Dr. Charles Harmon, resided in The Woodlands, Texas, for over 30 years before moving back to Denison in 2015.

Along with Charlie, Beverly converted to Catholicism in 2003 and became an active member of Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Church in Houston. She read widely, with a particular fondness for quirky novels and films, as well as books about Catholicism. For many years she attended the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado with close friends. She loved to travel and go on long drives through the countryside with Charlie. They regularly visited San Pedro Island in Belize, where they could spend hours reading together on the beach.

Beverly was a talented amateur interior decorator with extensive experience building and remodeling homes. She seemed to thrive on the stress of large projects, coordinating carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters, and other tradespeople to realize her visions, which were always impressive.

She collected books, movies, antique furniture, and at times-so it seemed-houses, having moved with Charlie to fourteen different homes over the course of their marriage.

Above all, she was a people person, with cherished friends throughout Texas, many dating back to high school. She was warm, curious, and always funny, with a distinctive self-deprecating sense of humor.

Our sadness at her passing will last a lifetime.

In addition to her sisters, Mary, Davine, Tina and Lisa, Beverly is survived by her children, Traci, Jennifer, and David, her stepchildren Eric and Melissa, and 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Harmon will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father Randal Fogle officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Denison, Texas. There is no set time for visitation,

Pallbearers will be Calum Giles, Anthony Ditoma, Marty Sentmanat, Derrick Bercher, Joe Sentmanat, and Noah Sentmanat.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to St. Michael & All Angels Catholic Church, 101 East Texas St. in Denison, Texas 75021.
