Beverly C. Hart

Beverly Cummings Hart passed away on September 10, 2025 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, MA. She was born on March 21, 1940 to Merlyn and Edith Cummings. She graduated from Hamden High School, where she was a proud member of the Rainbow Girls. Beverly married her high school sweetheart and husband forever, William Paul Hart. She attended UCONN and subsequently graduated from Southern Connecticut State College.

Beverly and her family moved around a bit; from Hamden, CT to Newington, CT to Torrington, CT to Hammondsport, NY to Mawah, NJ to Penllyn, PA, and finally to Cape Cod, MA. Beverly taught elementary school in Newington, CT and Hammondsport, NY. She and her husband Paul later bought the Panorama Motel on Cape Cod. They sold that and bought the Village Green Motel, also on Cape Cod, which Beverly proudly managed for 31 years.

Beverly was loved by all the guests at the motel, especially the regulars, who often kept returning because of Beverly's bubbly, friendly, inviting personality. She made everyone feel like they were the only guests on the property. The thing is, that's how she really felt about each and every guest. Her daughter Diane once said, "Mom is our best marketing tool."

The list of Beverly's interests and activities is endless. Traveling the world with her sister Marilyn, annual trips to Nantucket with Marilyn, annual trips to Australia to visit Marilyn, annual camping trips to South Dakota and Connecticut (Beverly drove from MA to SD every year by herself since 1993). Ski trips to Austria, Vermont, and upstate New York. Flying a vintage P-52 Mustang, sky diving, boating, fishing, hunting, and so much more. Her lust for life was infinite.

Beverly is survived by her husband William Paul Hart, her son Douglas Hart, her sister Marilyn Sinden, her daughter in laws Mary and Arlette, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey, her daughter Diane, her parents Merlyn and Edith Cummings, her nephews Chris Cronan, Kala Makuaole, Clayton Hart, Stephen Hart, and her grandnephew Bernard Makuaole.

A memorial service will be held at St. David's Church, 205 Old Main St., South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday November 8, 2025 at 4:30 pm. Reception to follow at 5:30 pm.

Beverly embraced life with energy, enthusiasm, lots of love and always a positive outlook. She will be missed more than words can express.
