Beverly Heintz Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 28 to Jul. 31, 2025.
Beverly Joyce Heinz Of Charlotte, MI, and formerly of Jackson, MI, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 84. Beverly was born on January 2, 1941, in Jackson, MI, the daughter of Herbert and Juanitta (Johnson) Garred. She was raised in Onondaga and graduated from Leslie High School with the Class of 1960. Beverly dedicated much of her working life to Meijer, where she was a friendly and familiar face as a cashier. She also spent time as a clerk at Brown's Pharmacy in Jackson. A lifelong reader, her home was filled with books, especially romance novels she loved to get lost in. She had a curious mind and a creative spirit, often found crafting, making jewelry and cards, or researching her family's genealogy. She was a founding member of the Michigan Center Lioness Club and an active member of the Rose Club, where she took pride in growing and showing roses from her own garden. In her earlier years, Beverly enjoyed bowling and playing golf. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than doting on them, spoiling them with affection, treats, and thoughtful surprises. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merton Heintz; grandson, Andrew Higelmire; sister, Helen Glaspie; brother, Bud Garred; and her parents. Surviving are her children, Valerie (Doug) Dickinson and Chuck Heintz; grandchildren, Anthony (Rikki) Higelmire, Brooke (Lynn Lehnert) Hector, Howard (Paula) Hector, Kristy Heintz, and Samantha Heintz; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Smith; and many extended family members and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor Beverly's memory may consider a contribution to the Foundation to Advance Vascular Cures.
