Beverly Ann Hollis, a beacon of love and service, passed away on October 6, 2025, in her native Alabama, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. Born in Dothan on September 16, 1959, Beverly's radiant spirit was evident from her earliest days. She grew up in a bustling household, the heart of which was her deep-rooted love for her family.
Beverly was preceded in death by her cherished granddaughter, Nahaley Fortenberry; her father, Robert Charles Hollis; her mother, Dorothy Hollis Roberts; and her sisters, Robbie Humphrey and Bobbie Hill. These losses only strengthened her resolve to live a life full of love and purpose.
She is survived by her adoring daughter, Natosha Farrell, and her beloved grandson, Drew Christopher Harrison, who was the light of her life. Beverly's siblings, Kenneth, Vanessa, Shelia, Rodney, Phyllis, Cynthia, and Pamela, along with her niece, Tiffany, and numerous other relatives, will forever hold her memory dear. Her lifelong friendships with Annie, Janice, Elaine, Terry, and Helen were a testament to her unwavering loyalty and affection.
Beverly's commitment to service began in her teen years as a Candy Striper and continued throughout her life. She was a steadfast supporter of the Dothan High School JROTC and a proud member of the Melodious Chapter #107, Order of the Eastern Star. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and as a devoted member of First Missionary Baptist Church, she served with grace and humility.
Professionally, Beverly's career was marked by her desire to help others. Whether through her work in the Human Resource Food Assistance Program, keeping children safe as a Crossing Guard, or as the dependable 'Dispatcher 21' for the City of Dothan, she performed every role with excellence and care.
Beverly's love for the Lord was matched only by her love for people. Her acts of service, whether baking her famous cakes or offering a helping hand, were her way of expressing that love. Her warmth, humor, and compassion were the hallmarks of her character, leaving an indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though Beverly's sudden departure has left a great void, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is now in the presence of the Lord. Her love, laughter, and legacy of service will continue to inspire and guide us. Beverly walked in faith, served with joy, and loved with her whole heart. She fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith.
Beverly Ann Hollis was indeed a good and faithful servant. As we bid her farewell, we rejoice in the knowledge that she has entered into the joy of her Lord.
