It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Beverly June Morris, a cherished member of the Cambridge community. Born on July 26, 1934, in Cambridge, June passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2026. She spent her life full of faith and love.
June was a member of the Cambridge High School Class of 1952 and furthered her education at The Ohio State University. She spent more than 20 years at Cambridge High School as the administrative assistant to the principal and was a lifelong Bobcat and diehard Buckeye.
Faith was a cornerstone of June’s life as she was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church where she loved to sing and was a soloist in the choir and a member of the Naomi Ruth Sunday School Class. Her dedication to community was evident through her involvement in the Order of the Eastern Star, the Cambridge Country Club, the original “Musigals” and later, the Cambridge Singers, and the Cambridge Elks, where she never missed a Wednesday of the Push Card Club. She also enjoyed playing golf, bowling in her younger years, and playing Bridge and Tripoley. June also loved watching her grandchildren in their many activities.
She leaves behind a loving family who meant the world to her: her sons, Tim Morris of Panama City, Florida; Barry (Ingrid) Morris of Vonore, Tennessee; Steve (Denise) Morris of Apollo Beach, Florida; and her daughter, J.J. (Kevin) Smith of Cambridge.
June will live on through her grandchildren: Bradley (Maggie) Morris, Sydney (Jordan) Heim, Tayler (David) Kenney, Emily Morris, Brad Morris, Ian Smith, and Adam Smith – and her great-grandchildren, Brody and Bennett Morris, Olivia Widle, and Frank and George Kenney.
She is also survived by special relatives Karen Kushen, Kay Davis, and Jay Corby Eubanks and special friends Ann and Jerry Jones. June always enjoyed her many visits and calls from family and friends. New Smyrna Beach, Florida held a special place in her heart with all of the memories that she created there.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy L. Morris; her son, David L. Morris; and her parents George Nugen and Mary (Winnett) Nugen.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to her caregivers and angels on earth, Cathy, Mary, Denise, Gina, and Lonnie. We also express our thanks to Hospice of Guernsey for taking such good care of her.
A visitation to honor and remember June will be held on April 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 641 Steubenville Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in June’s name to First United Methodist Church, 641 Steubenville Avenue, Cambridge, Ohio 43725 or to Hospice of Guernsey, 9711 East Pike Road, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
June’s life reminds us that love defines a life well lived. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn her passing.
