Beverly Krauss Pawley

Beverly K. Pawley of Virginia Beach passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 95. Beverly was the daughter of Harry and Mabel Krauss of Wilmington Delaware. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, U.S. Navy CDR Sigmund B. Pawley, Jr. and her daughter, Pamela Grane.
Beverly is survived by her children, Mike Pawley from Richmond, Karen Pawley and Mark Pawley from Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren, Bryan Pawley, Erika Woolf, and husband Rich, Jessica Price, Michael Hodges, Steven Grane, Bryce Grane, Ashley Pawley, and Abby Pawley and her husband Joey Rodriguez; and three great-grandchildren, Allie and Adler Woolf and Abaco Price; and her son-in-law, Steve Grane.
Beverly went back to school in her fifties, and she became a nurse who made a lasting impact on the lives of countless geriatric patients and their families. She loved crafting, was a master gardener, and had a passion for animals. She was an excellent cook who embraced her husband's Polish heritage having made cabbage rolls, pierogi, and many famous pies. While her husband, CDR Pawley was leading aviation squadrons, Beverly organized activities that provided nurturing care to the women of other naval aviators.
The yearly retreats for a week every summer in Hatteras and Ocracoke Island, NC with her family were some of Beverly's fondest memories. She devoted her life to her family in so many unselfish ways.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. 2002 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach followed by a celebration of Beverly's life at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery.
