Beverly June Ross

Beverly June (Mutz) Ross, 73, of Edmond, OK, passed away on October 2, 2025. She was born on July 23, 1952 (along with her twin sister and best friend Barbara Jean) to Irwin and Mary Elizabeth (Godwin) Mutz in Bethany, OK.

Beverly graduated from Putnam City High School in 1970 and went on to pursue a career as a secretary and administrative assistant, but she also had a creative passion as a seamstress. She loved to sew and she specialized in drapes and curtains. There are many homes, hospitals and businesses today with her talented work hanging from their walls and windows.

On August 4, 1972, Beverly married Philip Lee Ross of Oklahoma City, OK and together they had three children, Jim, Laura and Blaine. If you knew Beverly, you knew she was very proud of and dearly loved her children. The only thing she loved more than her children was her grandchildren, Shelby, Hannah, Regan, Hallie and Declan. One of her favorite things to do was to have her grandchildren over for sleepovers where she would order pizza and they would watch Netflix and drink Dr. Pepper.

Beverly was a friend to many people. She never met a stranger. She liked to smile. She liked to laugh. She liked to love. She liked to give.

Finally, Beverly was a blessed and faithful servant of Christ. She anxiously looked forward to Sundays when she could go to church to pray and worship with her friends and family.

Beverly is survived by her brother, Robert Mutz and his wife, Becca; sister, Barbara and her husband RL Talley; her children, Jim and wife, Jackie, Laura and husband, Aaron Van Stavern and Blaine; grandchildren, Shelby, Hannah, Regan, Hallie and Declan; and her nephews Tim Mutz, Andy Mutz and Brandon Talley.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th from 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, OK 73044.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at 10:00 A.M. at First Christian Church, 402 E Noble Ave, Guthrie, OK 73044. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
