Beverly Jean Ruppel of Zilwaukee, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 94 years old. Beverly Jean Behrens was born on November 8, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Gertrude Behrens. She was a proud 1949 graduate of Zilwaukee High School. Following graduation, she took secretarial courses and worked as a secretary in the toy department for Morely Brothers Department Store. She met the love of her life, Edwin John Ruppel, while working at Morley Brothers. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 21, 1957, at St. John Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee; he survives her. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her little piece of heaven was spending time with her family, gardening, and quilting. Beverly will forever be remembered for her strong will, her confidence and passion in her views, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Edwin John Ruppel of Zilwaukee; two sons: Steven (Sonya) Ruppel of Sharpsburg, GA; Rick Ruppel of Zilwaukee; three grandchildren: Stephanie (Chad) Ruppel-Dunn of Sharpburg, GA; Sydney Ruppel of Newnan, GA; Serena Ruppel of Newnan, GA; a sister-in-law, Carol Card; Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Edwin Ruppel; mother and stepfather, Gertrude and Howard Vibber; and two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Schaible and Elaine Reimer.

A funeral service will take place at noon on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Scott Muske will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral chapel on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. John Lutheran Church in Zilwaukee.
