Beverly Jean Scheerer

Beverly Jean Scheerer age 72 of Lilburn, GA., passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 following a brief illness. She was born on February 14, 1953, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Mildred Louise Holder and William Woodrow Scheerer.
She was part of the Spartanburg High School Class of 1971 and attended Columbia College. While living in Spartanburg she was very active in the First Baptist Church Chorale productions that traveled all over the nation. She studied dance for 21 years, played piano, directed the hand bell choir, and provided sign language during church service. She loved working in the academic field, including Georgetown University School of Public Health in DC; the University of South Carolina School of Public Health, and retired from Georgia Tech College of Engineering and Computing. She was a needlepoint/cross stitch artist, an avid reader, loved knitting and crocheting, and enjoyed catering for family and friends. She was also a foster mom to many fur babies. Her favorite things were spending time with family and anything Disney.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Rae Scheerer; brother, Rusty (Robin) Scheerer; nieces, Sherry (Chuck) Dougherty and Natalie Butler and their children; nephews, Eric, Kevin and Ryan Scheerer; and life long friend/adopted sister, Nancy Campbell and family; Billy (Lisa), Ryan (Jackie) and Jonathan Campbell, Bryan Walters; and her fur babies, Dobby and Harry. In addition to her parents, Beverly was predeceased by her brother, Warren Scheerer.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 1:00PM-3:00PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church in the Fellowship Hall 900 Dreher Island Road Chapin, SC 29306. A second Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 2:00PM-4:00PM in the Fellowship Hall at Solid Rock Church Spartanburg, SC 29302. A third Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at 4726 Carlene Way Lilburn, GA 30047. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund.org, the American Stroke Foundation, or a favorite children's or pet charity in memory of Beverly Jean Scheerer.
