Beverly Schilz, age 85, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, in her residence, following a period of declining health, on Sunday, October 26, 2025, while in the care of Ohio’s Hospice.
Born in Angola, Indiana, on March 29, 1940, Beverly was a daughter of the late Byrle and Joyce (Harter) Greenamyer.
She was a 1958 graduate of Angola High School. Two weeks later on June 21, 1958, she married the love of her life, Raphael “Ray” Schilz. Together they have enjoyed 67 years of marriage.
Beverly was a homemaker. She enjoyed cross stitching and sewing. In retirement she and Ray loved to travel, visiting almost every state. She was an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and for many years she served as an assistant cook for Central Catholic High School.
In addition to her husband, Beverly will be missed by her daughters, Linda (Terry) Stalnaker of Dover, Collette Schilz of New Philadelphia, Paula (David) Allensworth of Wainwright, and Rene Burke of New Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Roslyn (Carl) Albersmeyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and many cousins and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will greet guests on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM in Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will lead a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia.
Memorial donation in Beverly’s name may be directed to Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
