Beverly Jane Foley Shanks, age 88 of Louisville, Kentucky was welcomed into heaven Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Bev was born November 19, 1936, in Owensboro, KY to her late parents Janie (Redman) and Nastasio Foley. She was a graduate of Southern High School class of ‘55. Following high school Bev was employed in roles such as executive secretary and bookkeeper until she began her real estate career in 1976. Her career spanned 42 years with accomplishments that included the Million Dollar Club and Top Sales Associate of the Month. Bev had deep friendships, cherished her family and always held a special place in her heart for her poodle, Dandy. She loved traveling or just hanging out with her friends. Bev was a wonderful hostess—getting everyone together brought her a lot of joy. She had a beautiful smile and a great laugh and was quick to express gratitude for kindnesses shown to her. And you can trace the thread of Bev’s faith in Jesus running through her whole life. In addition to her parents, Bev was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Roberts, Joyce Ray, Helen Miller, Bob Redman, Lloyd Redman, Jim Redman and Bettie Gearheart.
Bev was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Sue Roberts Moore, Ann Roberts, Deborah Faircloth, Dan Miller (Tammy), Denise Kaufman (Dennis), Donna Harrison (Kevin), Bill Spinner (Debbie), Cheri Young (Dave), Vicki Hammond (John), Tammy Burton (Jeff), Janie Dawson (Chad), Jim Ray, and Teresa Ray; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Kentucky Avenue Church of Christ, 1418 Belmar Drive, Louisville, KY 40213 with a celebration of Bev's life to follow at 6:00pm.
