In Loving Memory of **Beverly Kay Taylor** 12/15/1942 - 7/29/2025
Beverly Kay Taylor, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, went to be with Jesus peacefully in
San Antonio, Texas, on July 29, 2025 after enduring several strokes. Born on December 15, 1942, in San Antonio, she was the cherished daughter of Mary Louise and John Stone, who instilled in her a deep love for faith, family and a creativity that would define her life.
Kay's life was marked by love and devotion, particularly to her husband, Don Taylor, whom she married on her 20th birthday. She always said that Don was her favorite birthday present. Their union, filled with joy and companionship, lasted for 43 wonderful years until his passing. Together, they created a warm and nurturing environment for their family, which was always her greatest treasure. Kay loved Christmas and holidays and always made them very special for her friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Don Taylor, and her sister, Paula Stone, who both remain in the hearts of those who loved them. Kay is survived by her two brothers, David and Mike (Mary Lee) Stone and children: Kellie (Erik), John (Darcee), and Joel (Toni). She was a doting grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren: Taylor, Allie, Finn, Cole, Skye, Cody, Caleb, and Kendall, who brought her immense joy and pride. She was known as KK to everyone once she became a grandmother.
Kay's education at the University of Texas at San Antonio culminated in a degree in Drama and Art, a testament to her creative spirit. She brought her talents to life in the drama department at Wayside Chapel, where she left a lasting impact. A gifted artist, her paintings adorn the homes of loved ones, serving as cherished reminders of her talent and affection.
Athleticism was another hallmark of Kay's vibrant personality. She loved to ride motorcycles with her husband, deer hunt, play cards and play all sports with enthusiasm, particularly excelling in tennis and enjoying long walks. Her love for sports extended to her passion for the Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, golf, and anything that aired on ESPN! A true Texan, she savored life with her favorite foods: Beef enchiladas, breakfast tacos, "Large" Cokes, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, and a cold beer, often enjoyed in the company of family and friends.
Kay was known for her infectious smile, endearing laugh, and the warmth she radiated to those around her. Her easy-going nature and affectionate spirit made her an extraordinary wife and mother. Kay was awarded Miss Congeniality in the Miss San Antonio pageant when she was young, and was always friendly and vivacious. She embraced life with a huge heart, and her family will forever cherish the memories of moments spent together.
As we mourn the loss of Kay, we celebrate her beautiful life-a life filled with faith, love, creativity, and unwavering gratitude for her family. She will be deeply missed but her legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Kay, knowing you were loved beyond words.
