Obituary published on Legacy.com by Demby & Son Funeral Home on Oct. 7, 2025.
Dr. Bianca Grant was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on December 22, 1978, to Wanda Jacobs Bailey and Larry David Grant. She was the eldest of two children. She spent her formative years between
Donaldsonville, Louisiana and San Leandro, California. She resided in Nashville, Tennessee for the past twenty-four years.
She attended San Leandro High School in California and graduated from Family Christian Academy High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She matriculated at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana and Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. She completed a two-year ministerial training program at Ever Increasing Word Training Center, School of Ministry, in Darrow, Louisiana. She later attended Hope Bible Institute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she received her bachelor's and master's degrees in theology and a doctorate degree in Biblical Psychology.
During her years of biblical and ministerial studies, Dr. Grant also worked as a concierge for the elite guests at Franklin Marriott Hotel, where she received an award of recognition as the number one concierge in the brand throughout the United States. She was also a pre-school teacher, where she developed an early childhood learning program for two and three-year-old children. Upon leaving her class, the children knew their alphabet, could read simple words, count to thirty, and do simple adding and subtracting. Dr. Grant exposed the children to different genres of music which included classical, jazz, gospel, folk songs, and mariachi. She provided spiritual instruction as well. The school administrators were hesitant to allow her to engage the children in that level of training, given their ages. Dr. Grant convinced them that the children's ages were an advantage since they had not yet developed fear or anxiety toward learning. After observing the success of her program, the administration adopted her instructional program throughout the school.
Dr. Grant had many interests in her life, some of which were expressed through various artistic genres. She was a gifted singer, poet, lyricist, musical arranger, and writer. She also did impromptu paintings when she wanted to relax. Apart from singing, she had no formal training in any of her artistic endeavors. Although her creativity was impressive, her true vocation over the past thirty years was her study and analysis of the Bible. She was laser-focused on her efforts to understand God's Word, what He is trying to convey to us, and how to apply that knowledge to our daily lives. Her unrelenting pursuit in this discipline was the catalyst for writing the book Maturing in the Spirit of Love, which received excellent reviews from Amazon Books and from other sources.
At her core, Dr. Grant was an exceedingly kind and empathetic woman with a special place in her heart for children, animals and the less fortunate among us.
Although she will be greatly missed by her loved ones here on Earth; she would not want us to mourn her transition too long. Bianca believed true life exists only through our souls and spirits, which never die. So let this service not be a sad occasion but instead a celebration of her life on Earth and the times we shared with her.
