Bill Murphy

William Edward Murphy, known affectionately as Bill, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away at his home on October 27th, 2025, from natural causes. He was born on May 25th, 1963, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of the community he loved.
Bill was a proud graduate of West End Christian School, and the University of Alabama with a degree in History. He spent the majority of his career at Patco Electrical Contractors working alongside his longtime friend Kirk Patterson, serving as Secretary/Treasurer and as the office manager. His strong work ethic and loyalty made him a valued colleague and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest Edward Murphy and Sara Martin Murphy. He is survived by his stepson Alex Huffman (Amber), his stepdaughter Ashley Huffman (Jay), his father-in-law, Bo Fields, his uncle Jim Martin (Carolyn), and his aunt, Carolyn Tubbs as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Bill loved dogs, his and everyone's, enjoyed playing golf with all his friends at Woodland Forest Country Club and was an avid Alabama football fan, rarely no, never missing an opportunity to cheer on the Crimson Tide. Above all Bill will be remembered as a loyal friend, a man of quiet strength and kindness, and as a devoted son to his parents during their lifetimes.
Pallbearers will include Bob Falls, Jeffrey Farmer, Bo Fields, Alex Huffman, David Martin, Paul Nichols, Chuck Tilley and Thomas Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers are the employees of Patco Electrical Contractors and the One Hope Church Sonshine Sunday School Class.
A visitation will be held on October 31st, 2025, from 12:00 noon to 1:00PM at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Funeral services will immediately follow. A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM at Pineland Cemetery in Centreville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Youth for Christ, 1401 McFarland Boulevard North, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35406.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved Bill take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior. His gentle spirit will remain a lasting testimony to a life well lived and as a reminder to all that the best legacy we leave is found not in what we have, but how deeply we love.
