Bill Richards

Bill Richards, 81 of Ventura, California passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2024, in Ventura, California surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. Bill was born in Massachusetts to James and Anne Richards on December 25th. He went to high school back east and graduated in 1960. After high school he served in the Navy and was stationed in Italy. He received an AA degree in Supervision at Ventura College.
For many years Bill worked in sales, but his true passion and calling was to help other people. He enjoyed cooking, reading, spending time in deep conversation, caring for everyone around him and being of service to others. His door was "literally" always wide open for anyone who needed, or wanted a smile, a hug, a quick chat, or an in-depth philosophical discussion about life, love, and living. Bill was an active leader in the community, spending most of his adult life dedicated to serving in AA and helping others. He loved living in Ventura and was a proud resident for over 50 years.
Bill was witty, charming and he left a lasting impact on so many lives in the Ventura County area and beyond. He will be missed by many!
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Lynn Stauffer of Redding, CA and Kimberly Richards-Holguin of Ventura, his sons-in-law, Jim and Tito Holguin, grandchildren Alyssa and Megan, Kyle and Miranda, his sister Anne, sister Debbie and sister-in-law Alice, and nephew David. He is preceded in death by his brother Bob, sister Rena and niece Renae. He is loved and will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Los Robles Hospice and team.
A celebration of life will be held at Poinsettia Pavilion on Saturday, February 10th at 11:30 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Poinsettia Pavilion.
