Billie Jo Baldwin, born on June 3, 1926, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025. A cherished matriarch and beloved member of her community, Billie lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Ralph R. Baldwin, Jr., who predeceased her in 1989. Together, they built a life rich in love and memories.
Billie graduated into a world that demanded resilience and tenacity, which she demonstrated throughout her life. She held various roles, most notably as a devoted housewife and chief buyer at Corrigan's Jewelry Company, where her keen eye for beauty and quality shone brightly. A member of the Petroleum Club of Houston and the Blue Bird Circle of Houston, she actively participated in her community and exhibited a profound commitment to serving others.
Billie's spirit resonated in everything she did, particularly in her faith as a member of the Episcopal Church. Her dedication extended beyond her family; she engaged in friendships and activities within her community that enriched the lives of those around her. She often enjoyed playing bridge with neighbors and friends, forming connections that spanned across generations.
She is survived by her son, Charles Baldwin, and daughter-in-law, Martha Traci Baldwin, both of Chapel Hill, NC, along with her son, William Allen Baldwin, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Baldwin, from Spring, TX. Billie's legacy continues with her grandchildren: Lindsay Baldwin Porter, along with her husband, Donald Porter; and their children, Charles Revel Porter II and Madeleine Muse Porter, all from Carrboro, NC. Additionally, Billie leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, whose lives she touched in ways that will be remembered fondly across Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Oregon.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Pamela Farrington, Robbin Wilson, and Sunday Jones for their loving and professional care during Billie’s final days, as well as to UNC Hospice for their compassionate support.
A memorial service to honor Billie Jo Baldwin will be held on September 6, 2025, at Azelea Estates Chapel in Chapel Hill, NC. The service will commence at 2:45 PM, and friends and family are invited to pay their respects. Following the service, Billie will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
Billie Jo Baldwin leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
