AZLE - Billie Louise Davis, 91, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024.
Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in Live Oak Chapel at Greenwood, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107.
Memorial: Flowers may be sent to Greenwood Funeral Home. If you wish to donate instead, donations may be sent to Arlington Heights Methodist Church in Billie's honor.
She was born December 17, 1932 in Mineola, Texas to parents Clarence and Lilian Haley.
Billie moved to Fort Worth with her family in 1944, and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1950. She spent 47 years working for banks in Fort Worth and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Billie retired from Bank of Commerce in downtown Fort Worth in 1999. She continued working part time for her cherished friends, John and Shirley Griffith, until she was in her mid 80s.
Billie married Harold C. Davis in Fort Worth on October 15, 1953. They were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Jan, on June 15, 1957. When they became grandparents, they showered their granddaughters with much love and enjoyed spoiling them at every opportunity. She had resided at Eagle Crest Villas in Azle since December, 2022 and was content each day. She was a devoted Christian, a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and a fifth generation Texan.
Billie was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed watching a game on television. Billie also enjoyed shopping trips with her group of friends, The Gad-Abouts, and lunches with her Bank of Commerce family.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 2001; her parents; two brothers; sister; and son-in-law, Richard W. Carden.
She is survived by daughter, Jan Carden; granddaughters, Claire and Caroline Carden; niece, Lynette Stock and husband, Greg; niece, Katherine Aulds and son, James; niece, Kay Bernstein and husband, Gary; and cousin, Mavis Cole.
"Do not be afraid, I am with you. I have called you each by name. Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine."
Song lyrics from "You are Mine" by David Haas

I was also part of the Grace Methodist youth group when she and her husband were our sponsors. I thought she was the prettiest, most sophisticated woman I had ever known.

Billie and Harold were sponsors of our youth group at Grace Methodist Church in the late `50´s. We all have fond memories of them both and the fun times we had!

I will miss Billie. She was so sweet and loved her and it was a honor to get to know her. I got very close to her while she was with us at Eagle Crest. She was very special to me.

I will miss Billie very much, she had a weekly standing appointment to have her hair done for over 40 years. As will many others she was first a customer, then a dear friend, and finally a part of my family. Much Love, Frank
