Billie Jean Morgan

Billie Jean Morgan was born on August 5, 1934 to Joseph and Plydia (McGill) Brown. She passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2025.
Billie was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. She became a member of White Oak Baptist Church in the White Oak Community at an early age. While there, she faithfully served as the church mother and as an usher for many years until her health began to decline. Her favorite passage of scripture was Psalms 23. Billie was married to Mickey Morgan, and they shared 60 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. A devoted Christian, she had a deep appreciation for nature, often sitting on the front porch to enjoy its beauty. She also enjoyed preserving jelly and creating quilts, which were some of her cherished hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Plydia Brown; her husband Arthur James "Mickey" Morgan; her sons Perry Morgan, Billy Earl Morgan, James Carl Morgan; her grandsons J.R. Galloway and Darius Himes; great granddaughter Ne'vaeh L. Jones; her siblings Vernice Young, Jimmy Brown, Zeffie Allen, Joe L. Brown, Martha Smith and Zelma Shelby.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children Johnnie Galloway, Joseph Morgan, Douglas Morgan, Sharon Himes, Katrina (Carl) Davis all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Bobby (Jannette) Morgan of Daingerfield, Texas, David (Linda) Savage of Commerce, Texas, Charlotte Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; 22 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren; her two sisters Lorretta Smith and Helen Love both of Dallas, Texas; godson Fred (Ashley) Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
