Earl Wayne Burris

October 2, 1953 – September 24, 2025

Earl Wayne Burris was born on October 2, 1953, in Sacramento, California, to Earl and Jonnie (Richards) Burris.

In 1992, Earl moved to Mount Pleasant, Texas, from Lufkin, Texas. It was there he met the love of his life, Carolyn "Peaches" Johnson, and they were united in holy matrimony on October 2, 1993. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family.

Earl was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he proudly served as a Deacon. He was known for his love of Westerns and his fondness for playing the dollar lottery. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Earl also had a knack for cooking-even if he preferred not to be the one in the kitchen. After 42 years of dedicated service, he retired from Pilgrim's Pride.

Above all, Earl cherished spending time with his four beloved granddaughters, who brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jonnie Burris, and his sister, Brenda Young.

Earl leaves to cherish his memory: His loving wife of 31 years, Carolyn Burris of Mount Pleasant, Texas; his children Fredrick (Britney) Johnson of Lancaster, Texas; Dondre (Mahaila) Burris of Dallas, Texas; IsaacEarl Burris of Lewisville, Texas; and Earl W. Burris Jr. of Tom, Oklahoma; his granddaughters: Ava Johnson, Candice Johnson, Lailani Burris, and Liliana Burris; his sister, Linda Smith of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Earl Wayne Burris will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
