Billie Jean Slone, age 76, of Wolcottville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 16, 1948, in Prestonsburg, Floyd County, Kentucky, to James Edward and Felsie (Caudle) Slone.
Throughout her life, Billie worked for several local fiberglass manufacturers, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. Beyond her professional life, Billie was deeply devoted to her family. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their company and milestones.
A passionate sports fan, Billie especially loved watching NFL football and was a proud supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs. She had a keen eye for talented quarterbacks and never missed a game. She also remained loyal to her Kentucky roots as a devoted Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan, cheering on her team through every season.
Billie is survived by her son, Kenneth Lee (Sherie) Fugate of Wolcottville; her beloved grandchildren, Brittany (Mickey) Crothers of Butler, Indiana, and Gust Gloor (fiancée Lexi) of Wolcottville; and 12 cherished great-grandchildren: Tevis, Colten, Curtis, Cayman "Rambo," Zoie, Nellie, Mary, Jeri, Jeremiah, Xavier, Aayla, and Hudson. She is also survived by her sister, Jolenia Smith of London, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles David Slone.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan Street, LaGrange, Indiana.
