Billy James Bell

Billy J. Bell (BB), 91, of Bowling Green, Kentucky passed away on February 12, 2026.

Billy was born and raised on a farm in Cairo, Georgia. He completed high school as a Cairo High

Syrupmaker and participated in football and track. After a short stint in college, he served two years in the

Army. He then returned to college at the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelor of Science in

Animal Science. He met and married Ruth Anne Boulware while attending there. He was a successful

businessman, building a manufacturing and exporting animal feed company as well as developing

residential and commercial properties around the Bowling Green area. He was a member of Christ

Episcopal Church, the Saturday Morning Liars Club, and the Friday Lunch Bunch. Most of all, he loved

people and enjoyed sharing his story.

Billy is survived by his daughter, Margaret Bell Colburn (Mike), sons, Gregory J. Bell (Anna), Jeffrey

Thomas Morgan (Jane), grandchildren, W. Faulkner Bell (Laura), Sarah Morgan Longhurst, G. Carson

Bell (Elizabeth), Matthew T. Morgan (Brooke), Grace Peach Anderson (Austin), Hope Peach Fox (Cody),

Taylor S. Morgan, and great-grandchildren Baker Longhurst, Jackson Bell, Grayson Fox, Landyn

Morgan, Owen Fox, Harper Anderson, and Lucy Morgan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Anne. His daughter, Marilyn Bell Morgan, brother Wynburn

Bell, and sister Carolyn McDaniel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Saturday, March 28th, followed by the Memorial Service

at 1:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church with Reverend Steve Pankey officiating. Celebration of Life at

2:00 pm on March 28th at Bowling Green Country Club.
