Billy Ned Cook

Billy Ned Cook, age 81 of Madison, MS passed away April 28th at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Billy was born in Kosciusko, MS on October 8, 1942, to Mable Miller Cook and Robert Dalton Cook. He grew up in Jackson, MS. He attended Provine High School, Hinds Jr. College, and graduated from University of Southern Mississippi in 1964. He enlisted in the Air National Guard shortly after graduation. He married Alice Mathews in 1965 and they lived in Jackson until 1977 at which time they moved into their home they had built in Madison. He was a commercial furniture factory representative for many years and traveled throughout the U.S.
Billy and Alice were blessed with three children Mike (Michelle), Jeff (Ann), and Jeannie (John). His two perfect grandchildren Timothy and Catherine were the apple of his eye, and they called him Papoo.
He is survived by his wife Alice, and his children Jeff Cook and Jeannie Jens, plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, son Mike and brother Jerrell Cook.
Visitation will be at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS on May 4th from 10:00-11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow immediately after at Sebrell. The Cook family wishes to thank Dr. Maria Rappai and the critical care staff that took excellent care of Billy.
