Billy Wayne Griswell

Billy Wayne Griswell, son of the late James Roy and Shelby Smith Griswell was born on May 26, 1955 in rural Oran, Missouri and departed his life on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at his residence in Oran at the age of 69 years, surrounded by his wife, daughter, son and dog.
He worked for many years as manager of Harville Lures in Henderson, Tennessee. He retired as property manager of Wright Properties in Cape Girardeau. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the casino, going to the river, kayaking and taking his dog for golf cart rides.
On Nov. 17, 1980 he was united in marriage to Sherry Cobb in Florance, Alabama. She survives of the home in Oran.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Corey Griswell of Oran; one daughter, Christa (Cory) Hahn of Oran; two brothers, Charles Griswell of Oran and Terry Griswell of Bloomfield; three sisters, Jearldine Urhahn of Sikeston, Missouri, Mary Daniels of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Rosa Knotts of Oran; five grandchildren, Camden, Clayton and Chloe Hahn; Aubree Griswell, and Colt Griswell; and his beloved chihuahua Rico
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Griswell; one sister, Donna Griswell; and by one granddaughter, Chelbie Hahn.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral services will then be conducted on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel with Rev. Zak McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
