He was born January 9, 1941, in Sedalia, a son of Clarence and Alpha L. (Garrigus) Kuhns. On June 6, 1964, at La Monte Christian Church, he married Judy K. Dillon who survives of the home.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Kuhns; a daughter, Julie R. Steele (Hank) of Knob Noster; two grandsons, Brandon Steele, of Knob Noster, and Colton Kinder, of Warrensburg; a granddaughter, Chelsea Kinder (Phillip) of Lee's Summit; and his beloved dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Kuhns and Alpha Stephens, and a sister, Mary Lou Shephard.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at La Monte Cemetery.
The family suggest memorial contributions to Show-Me Christian Youth Home or the charity of donor's choice, left in care of Moore Funeral Home.
