Mr. Billy Wayne Medders, 82, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.
Born on August 19, 1943, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Wayne was the son of Fancher Lee Medders and Mamie Elizabeth Hodges Medders Kugle. He graduated from Louisville High School in 1961 and honorably served his country in the United States Navy for four years.
Wayne was married to Judy Kay Barfoot for 54 wonderful years, and together they cherished their daughter, Crystal Dawn Medders Lewis.
With a dedicated career spanning 45 years, he retired after working in the parts department at various local Ford dealerships. A devoted member of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, Wayne was actively involved in his Sunday School group and found joy in his faith and serving others. He was a loyal friend to many.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening, often spending time working in the yard. His greatest pride and joy were his three grandsons, Landon, Lane, and Layton, whom he adored.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Fancher Lee Medders; his mother, Mamie Elizabeth Hodges Medders Kugle; and his brother, Hugh Harold Medders. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his daughter, Crystal (Jeff) Lewis of Brandon, MS; his sister, Mary Ann Medders Woleslagle of Jacksonville Beach, FL; grandsons Landon, Lane and Layton Lewis of Brandon, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the emergency room and critical care unit staff at St. Dominic Hospital for their compassionate care.
A visitation will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a service in the chapel at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or McLaurin Heights Baptist Church, Pearl, MS.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
