Billy Ray Morgan, 72, of Rutherfordton, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at Atrium Health Cleveland.
Bill was born in McDowell County, NC, on September 8, 1951, to the late Ray Mills Morgan and Eva Mae Lawing Morgan. Bill was a retired electrician who enjoyed playing golf, fishing, pool, and gardening. He was an active member of Rutherford County Senior Center. Most of all, Paw-Paw Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Debra Marie Morgan.
He is survived by five children, Dara Morgan Sprouse (Warren), Ashley Morgan (Robbie), Brooke Morgan, Brandi Morgan (Anton), and William Morgan; a sister, Brenda Vaughn; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one on the way; and a number of cousins.
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Nealsville Church of God Cemetery. Rev. Rodney Hillard will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024, at Beam Celebration Center.
