GRANITE FALLS – Billy Gene Oakley, 75, went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. He was born June 4, 1948 in Wake County to the late Benjamin Franklin & Esther Boone Oakley. Billy faithfully served our country in the United States Army. Upon completion of his honorable service, he became a Business Owner and Operator, working as a Painter. Billy had a big heart, was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Joe, Vernon and Bennie.
He is survived by his sons, Mitchell John Oakley and Kevin Calder; grandchildren, Noah Oakley, Cora Lee Oakley, Eli Oakley and Tristan Oakley; sisters, Betty Hopkins (Tommy), Doris Braxton (Sherrill), Margaret White, Beulah Smith; brothers, Jesse Oakley (Geneva), Herman Oakley and George Oakley (Evelyn).
Graveside service 3 pm, Monday, May 20, 2024 at Zebulon Town Cemetery, 0 Cemetery Rd., Zebulon, NC 27591.
