Billy Gene Pearce

Billy "Bill" Gene Pearce passed from this life January 3, 2023 at the age of 88 years and one day. Bill was born January 2, 1935 to Paul S. and Beulah Byrum Pearce in Dixie, Oklahoma.
On April 9, 1955 he married the love of his life, Mary Louise Wray. Together they shared 67 years of devoted marriage. To this union they welcomed one son, Billy and one daughter, Sandy.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Gladys and W.D. Wray, Sr., two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bob and Ruth Pearce, Betty Pearce, and Jim Pearce and one nephew, Robert Pearce.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Lou, of the home; son, Billy and daughter-in-law Jody, daughter Sandy and her husband Joe Silvestri of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren, Stevey Pearce of Huntsville, Arkansas, Eric and Rachelle Pearce of De Queen, Kelly Pearce of Tacoma, Washington, and Erica Silvestri of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzee, Phoebe, Nathan, Lucie, Norah-Kate, Samuel, Waylon, and Jackson. He also leaves his brother, Jack Pearce of De Queen, a sister-in-law, Shirley Pearce and W.D. Wray, Jr., and wife, Sandy as well as a number of special nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill dearly loved all of his family, but especially doted on his great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed nothing better than sharing his wisdom and wit with all who would listen and sometimes, even those who didn't want to listen. He and Mary Lou spent many times hunting, fishing, and traveling around the state with their mothers, their children, and grandchildren. In later years, their great-grandchildren brought much joy to their lives as they were introduced to his brand of humor and gruffness. For all that gruffness, they have always known they were loved and cherished.
Known by all simply as "Dad", he shared his proudest achievement in this life was marrying Mary Lou. He held no regrets and wished for nothing more of this world after meeting her and creating their family together.
Funeral services for Mr. Pearce will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home chapel with Jack Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Ida Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
